Ayrton Senna
Το πρωτάθλημα της Φόρμουλα 1 έχει μόλις ολοκληρωθεί και ο Alonso κάνει πλάκα στη συνέντευξη τύπου λέγοντας ότι η ομάδα του είχε κρυμμένους άσους στο μανίκι που δε χρειάστηκε να χρησιμοποιήσει πριν το τελευταίο grand prix! Δε μπορώ παρά να θαυμάσω τις ικανότητες του Ισπανού, ακόμα και αν τραγουδάει φάλτσα το "we are the champions".
Χωρίς να το θέλω όμως, ίσως επειδή η κυριαρχία ενός άλλου "μεγάλου" έφτασε στο τέλος της, οι σκέψεις μου ταξιδεύουν πίσω στον "μεγαλύτερο" οδηγό που πέρασε ποτέ από τη Φόρμουλα 1. Δεν είναι άλλος φυσικά από τον Ayrton Senna. Το παρακάτω απόσπασμα είναι από ένα περσινό άρθρο που επιχειρεί μια σύγκριση μεταξύ M. Schumacher και Senna. Δεν ενδιαφέρομαι για τη σύγκριση, απλά η ιστοριούλα δείχνει ότι ο Senna είχε κάτι ξεχωριστό:
"They both had an other-worldly ability to pick up the tiniest of details about the car's performance. For example, at one race in 1993, Senna told his engineers that he felt there was some kind of problem with the engine and he asked them to change it. The engine men could find nothing wrong, but team boss Ron Dennis asked them to put a new engine in anyway, just for Senna's peace of mind. When they took it apart, they found a tiny crack in the crankshaft that had not even been picked up by computer telemetry. Had Senna used it, the engine would have failed."
Αν αυτή η έκτη αίσθηση φαντάζει εντυπωσιακή, διαβάστε τι είχε πει ο ίδιος για τις απίστευτες επιδόσεις του κατά τη διάρκεια των επίσημων δοκιμαστικών στην κούρσα του Μονακό το 1988:
"I felt as though I was driving in a tunnel. The whole circuit became a tunnel... I had reached such a high level of concentration that it was as if the car and I had become one. Together we were at the maximum. I was giving the car everything - and vice versa."
Και για να κλείσω, κάτι που έχει ειπωθεί με τον ένα ή τον άλλο τρόπο και από πολλούς άλλους:
"On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit and you go for this limit and you touch this limit and you think, ok, this is the limit. As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you realise that you can suddenly go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and your experience as well, you can fly very high."

Δεν τρέχει τίποτα. Υπέθεσα ότι ήθελες απλώς να τονίσεις περισσότερο αυτά που είχε πει.
"Nada pode me separar do amor de Deus"
Για δώσε μια μετάφραση στα ελληνικά ή αγγλικά. Το άτιμο το babel fish μου το μεταφράζει ως "It swims can separate to me of the love of God" (portuguese -> english) ή "Nothing prunes to separate do to me love of Deus" (spanish -> english). Κάπως το πιάνω το νόημα αλλά αυτό το ψάρι θα με κάνει να ξεχάσω και τα αγγλικά που ξέρω. Χαμένοι στη μετάφραση!
